Mondays & Thursdays 8pm
New York City's live Japanese game show
In Japan, batsu means "punishment" and the batsu-game is a form of comedy competition where the losers are forced to endure hilarious and outrageous penalties. Face Off Unlimited has blended this wildly popular piece of Japanese culture with their own hysterical style of improv comedy to create BATSU!
has become an underground "East Village sensation!" (Asian Fusion Magazine)
Hosted by Japanese child star Brian "Bu-Chan" Walters on Thursday and Saturday nights, and by Kenji America every Monday! With the help of the beautiful, yet merciless, Noriko Sato, BATSU! is hilarious and inventive! Four warriors compete in comedic challenges to avoid electric shocks, paintball guns, a giant egg-smashing chicken, and many more hilarious and jaw-dropping punishments! The performers of BATSU! are members of acclaimed comedy group Face Off Unlimited ("Really Funny!" - The NY Times) and regularly appear on television, radio, and the NY stage.
BATSU! takes place in a cool underground lounge theatre in NYC's "Little Tokyo.” A full menu/bar is available and audience members enjoy sushi, noodles, and sake, while the bravest may even sign up for a chance to participate in the show to win free beer and prizes! Visit jebonusa.com to view menu.
“With the combination of the delicious and decadent food, masterful improv the party atmosphere and music, BATSU! is a funny, crazy, trip to Japan! ” - Jay Painter, Face Off Artistic Director
