In Japan, batsu means “punishment” and the batsu-game is a form of comedy competition where the losers are forced to endure hilarious and outrageous penalties. FOU has blended this wildly popular piece of Japanese culture with their own hysterical style of improv comedy to create BATSU!

The performers of BATSU! are members of the acclaimed New York comedy group FOU, dubbed “Really Funny!” by the New York Times, and also regularly appear on television, film, and stage. BATSU!

BATSU! takes place in a cool underground lounge theatre in NYC’s “Little Tokyo.” A full menu/bar is available and audience members enjoy sushi, noodles, and sake, while the bravest may even sign up for a chance to participate in the show to win free beer and prizes!
